The Never Ending Birthday short story

13th July 2010 and it's Ellie’s 20th birthday. The day before he had an argument with her dad so she woke up a little bit sad and to the sound of Ellie’s family singing happy birthday carrying an already light cake. The family stirred at her for 10 mins before she blew out the candles. Good morning birthday girl said Ellie’s mother in an exciting manner. The day went by and Ellie had finished her uni lessons for the day and her friends had planned a surprise party with the theme being 80s. The day before he had a argument with her day the day before

The party had come around. The sound of wham was echoing throughout the party hall. Everyone was drinking mocktails and laughing. The clock struck midnight and Eillie had decided to go home. Beep beep went the alarm clock. Eille slowly woke up and could hear her family from outside her door starting to sing happy birthday. The whole family burst into the room with a cake that had already been light. Eille did not know how to react as she had already had her birthday the day before. “It was my birthday yesterday,” said Ellie with a confused look on her face. “No it's your birthday today” said Ellie's mother in a confused manner. “How old am I” said Eille as she tried to understand the situation “you are nine silly” replied her mother. Eille was so confused when hearing the news as she was only just 20 the day before.

Ellie's mother forced her to go to school even though she knew in her heart that she should have been at uni. The day went by so fast and Eille got home about 3pm to find out she was having an 80s theme night. Eille had no idea why this was happening to her all over again. All her old friends came to the party and had a wonderful time. The party wrapped up at 8pm and she went to sleep.

Beep Beep went to the alarm. Eille slowly woke up and could hear her family getting ready to come into the room. Ellie was hoping that they were not going to sing happy birthday again but to her surprise they came in and sang. She once more asked how old she was and got told she was 6 years old. Ellie thought it was strange and went to school. As she was 6 she knew that children had a wonderful imagination and could tell her friend what was happening and they would believe her. She told her friend everything that had happened to her. Their friend spent the whole morning working out what is going on. The bell went and they both ran as fast as they could to the playground. “I once saw this film called Jack where the main character Jack grows up so fast that by the time he was 20 he looked like a 90 year old and died” said in a fast fashion.

Ellie rushed home and asked her mum to buy the film. Her mum said yes and until it was time to leave for her 80s theme party she watched the film over and over again analyzing each detail to work out if the same is happening to her but in reverse. The party started and Ellie ran over to her friend and told her how she was right about the Jack theory and was even more worried that her life could end within the same day but she is always younger each time.

Beep beep went the alarm yet again. Ellie woke up and witnessed the same thing again but this time she was only 5 and Ellie’s mission this birthday was to find out what the problem was to save her life. Once she had finished blowing out her candles she ran to get dressed and then ran down the stairs to have a confirmation with her family to work out what the problem could be. After only an hour of talking to her family she remembered about the argument she had with her father.

With his new information she chose to spend her day being with her father to see if that would help. Her dad was very happy to let her ditch school as it was her birthday. The time was 3pm and she had to get ready to go to the 80s theme party. When she arrived at the party she ran as fast as she could to find her friend to tell her what she had discovered.

Beep beep the alarm went off and Ellie woke up very slowly and checked the date on the clock and the clock said it was the 14th july 2010 and she was so happy that her like was not over she ran as fast as he could to her family and gave them a giant hug.
